The Art of Gardening

Talk to the children about how  one of a Farmers goal is to work hard to ensure the growth of healthy fruits and vegetables. A farmer must work hard to achieve the desired outcome. Similarly, we must keep our end goal in mind and reap great things because we have sowed amazing seeds in our lives! Remember we reap what we sow.

Activity: Making Lemonade

  • Lemons
  • Mint
  • Water
  • Blender
  • Ice
  • Measuring jug

Though this activity allow the children to develop an understanding of fractions. Focus on half, quarter and three quarters. Using correct amounts to achieve the desired result- yummy yummy lemonade!

Connect the activity of making lemonade to the concept of niyyah- sincerity of our intention. We can perform acts or good deeds half heartedly, quarter heartedly or full heartedly. The level of sincerity and amount of effort we put into our actions will affect the outcome. The correct amounts of sincerity and effort will allow us to achieve the desired results.

Additional Activities for 5+ Years

Wonderful Wudhoo

Ask your child to demonstrate the performance of wudhoo. Talk about how wudhoo is a prerequisite to salaah and salaah is the mehraj of a mumin. We all want to go on a journey as special as this. We want to constantly keep this end in mind of returning to Allah with khayrat. Isn’t salaah so fabulous!

The Walk of Life

Ask the children to form two rows facing each other with a gap in the middle. One by one each child will walk through the row of peers. The row of peers represent the love of this world, their desires etc and the test of each student is to pass through without allowing these things to occupy them and stop their journey.

Objective: If we constantly journey like this, with our end in mind than nothing will take us away from Allah.
