How beautiful is the spider’s web! Spiders make their webs from a secretion they make themselves. The spider’s web does not provide safety for the spider but rather acts as a trap for insects. The spider has such a deep idea of design when building its web. But in a WHOOSH! the web is destroyed. Everything is going to finish. Our homes are like the spider’s, so are our toys and everything else. We do not want to be attached to anything but the everlasting Allah. Lets hold Him tight in our hearts. Read ayaat (29:41) and discuss.
“The parable of those who take protectors other than Allah is that of the spider that makes for itself a house but truly the flimsiest of houses is the spider’s house, if they but knew.” Surat al Ankabut, (29:41)
Spider and Web Kit:
- Paper plate
- Black paint
- Paint brush
- Soft white string
- Googly eye stickers
- Hole punch
Instructions:
- Using the hole punch, create 10 evenly spaced holes around the edge of the paper plate.
- Apply black paint to your hands and make a right hand print and a left hand print close together on the paper plate.
- Wash your hands.
- Once the paint is dry, stick two googly eyes onto your spider hand print.
- Lace your string through a hole and ask a grown up to help you tie a knot at the back. Then lace your string randomly all across the paper plate to create a web.
- Place your spider and web in eyesight. Recite the ayat whenever you see the spider and web. Remind yourself that everything is going to finish except Allah. Say, “I will hold onto Allah, the Everliving,”
